Tim Storrier

B. 1949

Tim Storrier is an esteemed Australian artist. His work explores the Australian landscape in an ongoing attempt to capture its changeable moods, subtlety and vibrancy. Although they are precise, Storrier's work is often distantly surreal, as though touched by imagination.

Since winning the prestigious Sulman Prize in 1968 at age 19, Storrier has consistently advanced to become one of Australia’s most respected and sought after contemporary artists. In 2012 he won the Archibald Prize and in 2017, won the Doug Moran Prize.

Storrier has been represented in many prestigious exhibitions, including the Australian Bicentennial Exhibition in London in 1988. His work is held in all major Australian art museums, and the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
