Brian Seidel was born in Adelaide, Australia. He is best known for his lush, yet intimate visions of figures, interiors and landscapes. As a youth, he studied under Jeffrey Smart. 

Seidel’s work is represented across Australian collections, most notably at the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the National Gallery of Australia. He has also featured internationally at the Harold E. Mertz Collection of Australian Art, University of Texas, USA.
